The weather in Fuerteventura

The weather in Fuerteventura is lovely throughout the year. The Canary Islands are also known as “The lucky islands” and according to several studies it has one of the best climates in the world.

The island’s climate is influenced by a branch of the Golf tide, “cold sea tides of the Canary Islands”, and the warm tides of Africa.

All year around our temperature is usually 20/25 degrees, on top of that yearly we have an average of 330 days of Sun. The temperature of the sea varies between 18 and 23 degrees, during the months of September and October it’s about 25 degrees.

In Fuerteventura it is almost always windy. The predominant winds are “NE Trade Winds”, these winds blow more during summer. The quietest months are September, October November, March, April and May.

Occasionally very hot winds blow from the Sahara to the Canary Islands. These winds coming from the East, usually brings airborne dust (which is called calima)

Therefore, Fuerteventura is a paradise for the sailor. Although it is usually very windy, it is also true that there is always a place to escape. If the wind comes from the East, we will sail in western direction. If the wind comes from the West, we will sail eastern direction. When the wind comes from the North, it is perfect to sail to the south coast. Etc.

If your thing is sailing, then you will find few places where you enjoy yourself more than here.
